After all the social media hype cooled, Facebook remains a truly valuable platform. This should certainly be a central part of your PC/COI plan.
The magic happens on a personal profile, and not generally business pages. Facebook can be a wonderful way to stay in touch with people, deepen and enhance existing relationships, and make new connections. And, in the world of real estate, having a strong connection with your network is central to having a thriving real estate practice.
Facebook is easy to use, but to get in and out in 17 minutes a day, there are some tips and tricks to be effective and strategic.
STEP ONE: Make sure your profile is set up the right way with a good profile picture AND a cover image.
STEP TWO: Make sure your place of employment, phone number, and email is on your profile and is set to public. The following shows you how to see what your profile looks like to the public and then how to make changes if necessary.

STEP THREE: Facebook Lists are a must for effectively listen and staying in touch and top of mind with past clients, or people in your sphere you’d like to either stay connected with, or develop a deeper connection.
Schedule appointments in your calendar to set up your Facebook Friends lists.
STEP FOUR: Create your friend lists on your computer, it’s easier and faster than on your Smartphone.

E. Select Friends to add to your list. You can add Friends to more than one list.

G. As you accept new Friend requests add Friends to one of more of your Lists when appropriate.
List suggestions might be Past Clients, Top 25, Team Members, Church Group, Out of Area Realtors, Tennis League, Lacrosse Families, Athletic League Friends, Office Team Members, Real Friends, etc.

Another remembered and appreciated gesture is wishing your Facebook Friends Happy Birthday. Using your computer do this.
To send Happy Birthday wishes using your Smartphone, do this:
STEP FIVE: Time block 15 minutes a day to pull your strategic friends lists, Like and Comment on their activity, send happy birthday notices, and a couple times a week do your own status update.
That’s it. Do this and you’ll create indelible Top Of Mind Awareness and attract business like honey attracts honey-bees.
